The final work

In the consumer board we were asked to describe all the information regarding my design intervention. I have added the scenario, expressions and the concept behind my design intervention.



In the concept board i have described my problem area and the opportunity which could solve the problem as well as the pros of the opportunity. 


In the social cultural board we have described the scenario of the place with small characters with different attributes.

The prototype that contains a rope to open the curtain when ever anyone wishes to change in the portable changing room of mine. I contains a hook and a round loop. It could be folded at the time of packing it and could be just opened up when ever you want by just opening the curtain andhanging it.



Survey and questionnaire

The place have a very chaotic ambiance and the socio culture comprises of lower middle class and lower class people. The target market is teenagers, foreigners and elders as well . Here we decided to prepare a questionnaire and ask them question about their number of visits in a month, the reason of visit as well as what attracts them the most.







Micro Research

The micro we chose was asia.'s first underground market i.e the palika bazaar and as well as the F block. There are about 390 shops in Palika Bazaar that sell out various varieties of items. Major thing about Palika bazaar is that the here is of clothing and electronics in this market. This bazaar was established in the end of 1970s, but as a number of new shopping malls and branded showrooms have been opened all around Delhi that has lead to the in the number of customers in this market consequently in about 1980s.
As per the estimation about Palika Bazaar can have around 15,000 population in its at the same time and it is also one of the famous attraction for foreign tourists. This place is well-known for items at very . palika Bazaar, howsoever, also do have a good name for the widely available prohibited items like stolen goods, fake designer products,CDs, software, movies and pornography. Most often raids are conducted by Police on regular basis in order to rescue pirated or stolen commodities, but nothing has been able to end the prohibited activities in about Palika bazaar.


Opportunity area

In class we jotted down all the data we collected and started to find out the opportunity area of the place. It could be anything the seating place, the arrangement of the things there, the security or even the advertisement of the shops. I started to jot down the possible opportunities and started to find out the pros and cons of each.

On the other hand we were asked to make the group map of the area we chose as our research area, we divided our work into various sections and allotted each member with one. It was the first time we tried our hand on something new which made the task even more tough.



Socio culture of place

The socio culture of the place is quite vast it attracts all types of peoples. The target market of place comprises of all upper,medium as well as lower class. We came up with this data when we went for the surveying part of our process we made a questionnaire and had a word with all the people that we came across vendors, shopkeepers, the cleaning staff ,patroling team as well as the customers, We had a word regarding their functioning,sale, the type of people they come across daily and number of cases they handle on daily basis. On the other hand we questioned the customers about their number of visits in a month, their education. what they like about the place.






The highlights of Connaught place

The place has highlights that attracts the crowd to visit CP frequently. CP has a unique combination of places from spiritual like Bangla Saheb and Hanuman Mandir to markets containing wide range of products like jantar mantar. The place has a very rich architecture and comprises of a inner circle and an outer circle. It has many fascinating places where people come for grabbing a bite.





My journey of research


On the commencement of the module we were assigned groups of 5 each. We were asked to make a log book of the entire research and to carry out many functions as well. We were asked to hunt for all the information we could of the macro area i.e CP the vast area on which we were researching on. After that we were asked to know the socio culture as well the targeted area and what are the things that make that place different from the others. We went into the deep end and decided to carry out a process for the entire module so that we could function as effectively as possible.A brain storming was to be added to it which contained all the things to our mind when we had a visit to that place.
